Two blog posts ago, I wrote about some of my memories from studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For this week’s treasury, I decided to make a collection of items from sellers in Argentina. When I started searching, I noticed that there was a lot of great jewelry that showed up in my search, so I limited this treasury to only jewelry. I love the different varieties of jewelry, and the craftsmanship! There are so many gorgeous pieces. One of my favorites that I just had to include is the bracelet made out of Argentine pesos. I remember seeing jewelry made out of pesos at the ferias when I was there! The artist would cut out a pattern around the image on the peso, outlining it. One artist that I saw had also done the same thing to U.S. coins and coins from other countries as well. They were very intricate. I purchased a carved peso for myself, with plans to make it into a necklace with some hemp, but I think I still have it in a drawer somewhere. Now I’m feeling inspired to go find it and make a cord for that thing!
